How Citycas Limited handles personal information collected through this website.
Last reviewed: May 2026
Who we are
Citycas Limited is the data controller for personal information collected through this website. You can reach us by post at City, Chartered Accountants, The Linen Hall, 162-168 Regent Street, London W1B 5TF, or by email at the address on the contact page.
What we collect, and why
The website itself does not require you to create an account or share any personal information to read it. We collect information only in two situations.
When you contact us through the website. If you use the enquiry form or write to us at the email address shown above, we receive whatever you choose to send — typically your name, your firm or company name, your email address, sometimes a phone number, and the message itself. We use that information to reply to your enquiry and to decide whether we are well placed to help. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to people who get in touch.
When your browser loads the site. The server records technical request information (page requested, time, IP address, browser identification) for the same operational reasons any web server does — keeping the site running, diagnosing faults, and protecting against abuse. We do not link this to individuals and we do not use it to build a profile of you.
What we do not do
We do not run advertising trackers, third-party analytics, or social-media pixels on this site. We do not sell or share enquiry information with any third party for marketing. If our position on any of this changes we will update this notice and the cookie notice together.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry correspondence for as long as we may reasonably need it for the original purpose — usually no more than two years for enquiries that did not result in a client engagement, and for the duration of the engagement plus the retention periods required by professional, tax, and anti-money-laundering obligations where the enquiry did become an engagement.
Your rights
Under UK data-protection law you can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it is wrong, ask us to delete it where we no longer need it, ask us to restrict how we use it, object to a particular use, and where applicable ask for a copy in a portable format. To exercise any of these rights, write to us at the email or postal address above. We will respond within one month.
If you are not satisfied
If you believe we have handled your personal information improperly and you are not satisfied with how we have responded, you can raise the matter with the Information Commissioner's Office (the UK supervisory authority for data protection) at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.
Changes to this notice
We will update this notice from time to time — usually because something on the site or in our processes has changed. The "last reviewed" date at the top reflects the most recent change.
